About the track

According to the speedway's track facts, Chicagoland Speedway is a 1.5-mile, D-shaped tri-oval on 930 acres, next to Route 66 Raceway. It opened in 2001 and has hosted NASCAR, ARCA, IndyCar and IROC events. The track's July 2026 release says it hosted NASCAR's top series for 18 seasons before racing was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic; Alex Bowman won the last Cup race before the break, in 2019. The track facts page lists 700 acres of free parking for 50,000 vehicles.

The mailing address is 500 Speedway Blvd., Joliet, IL 60433. The maps page shows the property bordered by Illinois Route 53 on the west, Chicago Street on the north, Laraway Road to the northeast and Schweitzer Road on the south, with gates off each.
