About JolietRent
Last updated
JolietRent has served renters and landlords in Joliet since 2006. In November 2026 we rebuilt the site from the ground up as a rental listings site and a local reference: every neighborhood, school and rent figure here comes from a public source, with a link and a date.
What we cover
Long-term rentals in Joliet, Crest Hill, Lockport, Shorewood, Plainfield, Romeoville and New Lenox: apartments, houses, townhomes, condos, duplexes and rent-to-own homes. Alongside the listings we publish neighborhood reports, school district pages, apartment building profiles, guides and things to do.
Where our numbers come from
- Rent, housing and commute figures: U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 5-year estimates.
- School figures: Illinois State Board of Education, Illinois Report Card data.
- Parks, grocery stores and map data: OpenStreetMap contributors.
- Metra stations and scheduled trip times: Metra's published GTFS schedule data.
- Asking rents: active listings on this site.
What we don't publish
We don't rate neighborhoods or schools, describe who lives in an area, or publish crime or "safety" scores. Fair housing law protects renters from steering, and we'd rather give you the facts and let you decide. Listings on this site must follow the federal Fair Housing Act and the Illinois Human Rights Act, and our listing form blocks discriminatory phrases.
How we make money
- Landlords can pay to feature a listing. Featured listings are always labeled "Featured."
- Some guides include affiliate links to services such as renters insurance and tenant screening. These are marked "Sponsored," and we may earn a commission.
- Some guide and things-to-do pages may show ads. Listing and review pages never do.
None of this affects how we rank rentals or how we handle reviews.
